One of the things that I love to do and spend a lot of time focusing on before the school year even starts is classroom organization. I really love creating a cohesive classroom decor, but not just for the sake of having it. It has to serve a purpose and be something that makes my daily routine easier. I’ve spent years trying out different systems to find what works for me. It’s still a work in progress, but there are some things that have been absolutely invaluable.

One of my favorite items is this IRIS 6-drawer storage cart. It has absolutely saved my classroom organization! I use it to store all of my copies I make for the week. On Friday, I lay all of my worksheets out on the floor, and sort all of my copies for the week. Then I place them in drawers for each day of the week, with extra copies in the last drawer. I have it right in my sub notes that the teacher can pull from this drawer and do any activity they want if they finish early. And, this is right next to my desk so I can get to them quickly when needed.
BRIGHT AND BOLD LABELS
I found the bright and bold labels to go with my classroom decor last year. I had a woodland animals theme, which transitioned perfectly into my Eric Carle classroom theme this year.

This drawer system is a game changer in my classroom! No more missing copies or lost worksheet to track down. They’re all in one place. Soon, it will be time for a change so I will remake them, but I love the bold and bright chalkboard labels.
After quite a bit of searching, sadly, I couldn’t find these exact ones. However, I have some different options from some of my favorite teacher friends!
- Sterilite Drawer Labels BLACK and BRIGHT from Cleverly Chic Classroom (these are free!)
- Editable Labels – Black and Bright from Ashlyn at The Creative Classroom
- Editable Labels | Teacher Toolbox Labels | Sterilite Drawers | Classroom Decor from Learning in Wonderland
The last set from Learning in Wonderland are my absolute favorite! I love everything she creates, and highly recommend her decor. If you want to see what other things she created that I use in my classroom, you can check out the images below. I use her learning objectives, center signs, and calendar resources. I love that they are editable, and you can use one or all of the colors available for a bright and colorful classroom! You can also take a tour of my classroom here.
